A guest lecture on “Fundamentals of Electronic Devices and Circuits” was organized on 10th January 2025 at 3:00 P.M. in Classroom 610. The session was conducted by Mr. Goutam Jirage, Assistant Professor from the Electronics Science Department at VCK. About 100 students attended the lecture.
The lecture provided an in-depth understanding of the fundamental concepts of electronics, focusing on the basics of electronic devices and circuits. Mr. Jirage covered the following key points:
1. Basics of Electronics:
• Introduction to electronic components such as diodes, transistors, resistors, and capacitors.
• Explanation of how these components work together to form circuits, both analog and digital.
• Basic circuit laws and the importance of circuit analysis.
2. Daily Use Applications:
• The lecturer highlighted how everyday devices like smartphones, computers, and home appliances rely on the principles of electronics.
• He discussed the role of integrated circuits (ICs), sensors, and microcontrollers in these products, making it easier for students to relate theoretical concepts to real-world applications.
3. Industrial Applications:
• Mr. Jirage also expanded on the importance of electronic devices in industrial settings.
• He explained how electronics are used in automation systems, manufacturing equipment, and robotics.
• Industrial control systems, power electronics, and communication technologies were discussed as major areas where electronics are pivotal in improving efficiency and precision.
Throughout the lecture, Mr. Jirage emphasized the practical applications of electronic components in both consumer products and industrial solutions. The session was interactive, with students actively engaging in discussions and clarifying their doubts.
The lecture was well-received, and students gained valuable insights into how electronics impact various sectors, helping them connect theoretical learning with real-world scenarios.
This guest lecture significantly contributed to the students’ understanding of electronics and its wide range of applications in daily life and industries.
