First year students of E&TC department of Dr. Bapuji Salunkhe Institute of Engineering & Technology conducted an NSS activity about Awareness of use of paper bags instead of plastic bags on 17th December 2024.

Objective of the Activity:
Raise awareness about negative effects of plastic waste .

Highlights:
Paper bags are more environmentally friendly Alternative to plastic bags because they are
Biodegradable,reusable,safer for food.To raise awareness about the environmental benefits of using paper bags,we decided to make 5 newspaper bags by each student and visited to hawkers of the most crowded area of Kolhapur ‘Central Bus Stand’.Students told how plastic bags are harmful to animals as well human beings and gifted them paper bags prepared by them .
Around 50 students actively participated in this activity.

The activity was coordinated by Prof.P.R.Phalake.
