Context and Background:
1.Voter awareness is essential for strengthening democracy.
2.Low voter turnout and lack of awareness about voting rights remain challenges.
3.Encouraging civic responsibility and participation in elections is crucial.
4.Organized by the National Service Scheme (NSS) unit.
5.Focused on promoting voter awareness and encouraging informed electoral participation.

Why Street play?
1.Engaging and interactive: Street plays can capture people’s attention and engage them in a way that’s both entertaining and informative.
2.Emotional connection: By using storytelling and drama, street plays can create an emotional connection with the audience, making the message more relatable and memorable.
3.Wide reach: Street plays can be performed in public spaces, reaching a large and diverse audience.
4.Collective action: A rally can bring people together, creating a sense of collective action and community involvement.

Objective of the Activity:
To educate and create awareness among students and the local community about the importance of voting, electoral rights, and the role of responsible citizens in a democracy.

Event Highlights:
A total 20 students actively participated in the street play.
The event was coordinated by Prof.Gopal Nilaje , Prof Akshay L chavan.
also Prof. Suraj Gaikwad (NSS Coordinator) with Prof. Pravin Desai and Mr. Pratik Malkar actively participated in the street play.
1.Around 20 students actively participated in Pathanatya.
2.Over 100 students attended the event.
3.Pathanatya was presented at BSIET open area near Entrance.

Summary:
The Voting Awareness Program, organized by the National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of Dr. Bapuji Salunkhe Institute of Engineering & Technology, aimed to educate students and the local community about the importance of voting and active participation in democracy. The event included a street play (Pathanatya) held at BSIET open area near Entrance, with participation from over 100 students. The program sought to raise awareness about the significance of voting, promote informed decision-making, and inspire collective action for a stronger democracy.

Points Observed and Outcomes:
1.The Engineer and the Society / World: The event raised awareness about the significance of voting, election procedures, ethical voting, and the impact of active participation in democracy.
2.Individual and Collaborative Teamwork: Participating in a community-driven awareness campaign helps students develop teamwork, leadership, and communication skills.
3.Life-Long Learning: Developing a habit of staying informed about electoral processes, democratic rights, and civic responsibilities..
Upon the successful completion of the cleanliness drive, students will be able to –

2.Identify causes and effects: Students will be able to identify the causes and effects of environmental degradation and its impact on human health.
